The Blue Mountains Bloco triumphs at the RITMO Festival , Sydney's largest display of Brazilian culture,

King Parrot Samba teamed up with Brazilian-style drummers and dancers to perform at this years' annual Brazilian Ritmo Festival at Darling Harbour (21st Sept 2008 from 10am).
The Ritmo Festival is an anual free event showcasing Brazilian culture, arts and cuisine. It's Sydney's Brazilian community's biggest event of the year!
King Parrot Samba joined forces with Samba Ninja, Sambalouco and the Newcastle-based SambaFrog to form a 40-strong bateria. The drummers backed-up Brazilian-style dancers in what is believed to be the very first performance of a Maracatu nação on such a scale in Australia!

June 20; Winter Magic Festival 2009. Grand Parade, Egyptian theme and helped usher in fireworks display on the steps of the historic Carrington.

March 1 2009 King Parrot Samba played a blistering set for the closure of Ghawazi Caravan's soiree.
17 January 2009 King Parrot Samba hosted Jean-Luc Stora, from Sambafrog, for a special Brazilian drumming and dancing workshop. Jean-Luc Stora is one of Sydney's best known Brazilian dance and drum teachers and it was real privilege to have him share his knowledge with us
November 2008: Parrots featured at Love Lawson Festival. King Parrot's Rodriguez did a free 45 minute workshop at the Love Lawson Fest. It was smashing and the participants had a ton of fun!
26 October King Parrot Samba - Bloco de Montanhas Azuis performed at this year's Footbeat Festival, WentworthFalls Lake.
28 October 2008, King Parrot Samba hosted Jose 'Macapa' Zagury (Chief Repinique Player) from Monobloco Brasil for an exclusive workshop. We did a funk and fine tuned our batucada. Thanks Macapa!
September 2008 King Parrot's Jose Clayton, Siobhan and Javier helped train up some kids from SpringwoodHigh School for the inaugural Acoustic Night: together they performed a 5 minute basic samba batucada. It was so smashing, so stunning and such a massive groove that the people got up and danced like they've never done before !
